After years of speech therapy and countless visits to ENT's, neither of whom knew what my daughter's speech problems were and what caused them, Lisa diagnosed Laura in just a few minutes and quickly came up with a treatment plan for her. It was such a relief to finally find someone with the expertise she has at diagnosing and treating patients. Laura's speech is improving daily and I would recommend Lisa and her staff to anyone needing the best in speech therapy.

My ENT physician prescribed speech therapy for a hoarseness and weak volume, not uncommon for a 70s something college professor. He described my problem as vocal cord atrophy. I chose Central Texas Speech Pathology Services and had the good fortune to be assigned to Lisa Famiglietti the Director of the Services. From the first meeting I was impressed with her confidence in understanding my problems, the causes, and potential means for improving my speech. Throughout the eight one- half-hour weekly sessions she continued to introduce exercises , gave me the opportunity to select what I felt was most helpful, and then provided supportive feedback for fine tuning the effectiveness of my practice of the techniques. Her communication, support, and always friendly helpful feedback made the sessions a very rewarding experience. Each week I looked forward to our sessions. My voice is now much improved and I should be able to maintain the voice quality sought. I am confident that Lisa was absolutely best therapist I could have found. I would recommend her for anyone needing speech therapy. I also had a problem with one ear closing and associated with the my speech issues. Here again, with Lisa’s background in audiology she diagnosed the cause and provided therapeutic techniques to manage this problem. I should also say that my brief observations of the professionalism of other staff members of the Services was reassurance that my choice of Central Texas Speech Pathology Services was most fortunate.

I want to thank you so much for the huge difference you've made in my life. Before you helped me control my VCD, I was limited in so many ways and I felt like I'd never be able to do some of the things that I used to love. Now, I know that I'm in control of my body, not the other way around.

Wanted to send you a picture of (my daughter's) first 5K. She did great. She ran May 1st at the Bun Run downtown. I ran with her and she was very happy. Thanks for all your help. This is building her confidence to try the cross country team in the Fall.

I am a professional singer and voice teacher. I saw Lisa after going to many different specialists to diagnose severe throat problems that were causing severe pain. As a result, I was losing the ability to sing as well as speak. Lisa addressed the problem on all levels: physical and psychological. She gave me "a bag full of tricks" that I still use and now my singing voice is more free and effortless than it has ever been in my life and the pain is gone! As Lisa would say, I am truly singing the "Hallelujah Chorus" over my recovery!

I would like to thank Lisa and her staff at CTSPS for their help and support while receiving their services. The course of treatment provided by Lisa Famiglietti really helped my recovery.

Finally we are seeing tremendous improvements in son's speech after several years of frustration and little progress at a different facility. Lisa is truly and outstanding therapist!

Our daughter, Morgan, had a prenatal stroke and has severe oral motor problems making it difficult for her to use oral speech. This condition was also affecting her dental occlusion (spreading her teeth farther apart, after 3 years in orthodontic braces). Lisa’s speech therapy exercises (which Morgan practices at least 2 times a day) has STOPPED the occlusion spread. Also, Morgan is now using some intelligible words, even on the phone. We (especially Morgan!) are excited to see this progress and highly recommend Lisa!

I first went to see Lisa Famiglietti at Central Speech Pathology Servies, Inc. when I thought my accent was getting in my way of getting promotions. My Human Resources representative said I did not have so much of an accent but it seemed to her I had a small speech imperament. It did not take Lisa but a few minutes of her listening to me talk for her to figure out what my problem was! I had upper airway resistance syndrome, which means pretty much I was a mouth breather. She sent me to see an otolaryngologists so they could fix the problem. It was amazing, she was able to figure out what had been wrong with my speech for years in less than 10 minutes! Once the physical problem was fixed ( I had to get a tonsillectomy and an adenoidectomy) I went to see her for therapy. After only a few weeks my speech was a lot more clear and now, well, I really don't have an accent, and every one can understand what I say with out a problem! I do not have to keep repeating myself and I am so much more confident with my speech now.
Since I've seen her, I have gotten a new and better job and there is no limit in what I can do now knowing that I sound as confident and prepared as I actually am.
Thanks Lisa, what you've done for me cannot be paid by just money, I will forever be greatful!

A very happy patient.

My child had vocal cord dysfunction after an extended illness. After one visit with Lisa he had improved; and within six visits he was finished with treatment! That speaks volumes, no pun intended. Courteous staff, reasonable prices, and no unnecessary extended treatment plans.

Working with the staff and speech pathologists at Central Texas Speech Pathology Services has been a pleasure. The office personnel are extremely helpful, diligent in following up and have a true genuineness about them that makes scheduling appointments easy. In fact, the staff went above and beyond on my behalf, reaching out to my insurance company to get treatment pre-approved without burdening me with the task of calling. Their staff was kind enough to deal with insurance complications before my arrival, making my visit to CTSPS hassle-free. Not only that, but the therapists were always punctual, thus my appointment time was “as advertised,” which is very much appreciated.
In addition, the pathologists are extremely knowledgeable and prove to be experts in their field. I visited Lisa over the course of my treatment for Vocal Cord Dysfunction. The results have been outstanding – I am proud to say that I am now able to participate in the sport I love best, triathlons, without any issues breathing thanks to my sessions with CTSPS. While I was skeptical at first, Lisa’s course of action proved to be helpful in reducing stress and opening my vocal cords, allowing me to breathe.
I truly appreciate all the help from CTSPS and would highly recommend their services.
Cheers,
Jeanine
